Company Description ReWind is developing a new generation of modular, fully recyclable wind turbine blades with a metal structure.
As Junior Aerodynamics
Engineer you will join our engineering team and work alongside senior engineers and external partners on the aerodynamic design, analysis and validation of our blades, from airfoil to full rotor. Our blade structure draws on aerospace design principles, so a background in aircraft aerodynamics is just as welcome as one in wind energy. It is a hands-on role, ideal for a recent graduate who wants to grow fast in a dynamic, innovative and international environment.
Responsibilities:
- Support the aerodynamic design of the blade: airfoil selection, chord, twist and thickness distributions, and rotor performance (power curve, Cp–λ curves, AEP).
- Run airfoil and rotor analyses with panel and BEM codes (e.g. XFOIL/RFOIL, QBlade, AeroDyn).
- Perform 2D and 3D CFD simulations to assess features specific to a modular blade, such as segment joints and surface discontinuities from both aerodynamic and acoustic perspectives.
- Prepare aerodynamic input data (airfoil polars, 3D corrections) for the loads and aeroelastic team.
- Work with the design and structures teams to turn the aerodynamic shape into a manufacturable geometry, balancing performance with structural, acoustic and production constraints.
- Help plan and analyse wind tunnel and field tests (e.g. pressure and power curve measurements) to validate our models.
- Develop Python/MATLAB scripts for parametric studies, optimisation and post-processing.
- Contribute to technical reports and take part in design reviews.
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, or in Mechanical/Energy Engineering with a focus on fluid dynamics.
- 0–2 years of experience (Master’s thesis, internships and university projects count).
- Solid fundamentals of aerodynamics: airfoil theory,
boundary layers and BEM theory.
- Hands-on experience with at least one CFD tool (e.g. Ansys Fluent, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM) and with airfoil codes such as XFOIL, gained through thesis, internship or coursework.
- Good programming skills in Python and/or MATLAB.
- Analytical mindset, structured approach and attention to detail.
- Passion for renewable energy, curiosity and a hands-on attitude: you will also support wind tunnel and field testing.
- Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams; fluent English, written and spoken.
Nice to have:
- Experience with wind turbine design tools (e.g. QBlade, OpenFAST, Bladed, HAWC2).
- Aerodynamic shape optimisation (e.g. gradient-based, adjoint or surrogate-based methods).
- Wind tunnel testing experience.
- Basics of aeroacoustics and/or flow-control devices (e.g. vortex generators, Gurney flaps).
- CAD skills for parametric surface modelling (e.g. Siemens Simcenter, CATIA, SolidWorks).
What we offer:
- A stimulating, innovative environment with real opportunities for professional growth.
- Continuous training and close mentoring by senior engineers.
- Competitive salary package and company benefits, including meal vouchers.
- Hands-on work on real prototypes and tests, with a direct impact on the final product.
- A young, dynamic team focused on innovation and the energy transition.
- A team focused on sustainable future and the opportunity to make a real contribution to the environment
- If you are passionate about wind energy and want to join a fast-growing engineering team, send your CV together with a short summary of your Master’s thesis or of a relevant project to
