ABOUT DE NORA De Nora is an Italian multinational, founded in Milan in 1923 and listed on Euronext Milan, working at the forefront of electrochemistry and sustainable technologies. Its Water Technologies division designs and supplies disinfection, filtration and treatment solutions for municipal utilities, industry and marine applications worldwide.
In EMEA, our Sales team works on some of the most relevant topics in water today: PFAS removal, the new EU Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive, micropollutants and water reuse.
THE ROLE
As Commercial Operations Intern, you will be the engine room of the EMEA Sales team: the person who turns data, documents and market intelligence into better commercial decisions.
Our Sales Managers are the company's front end towards the market, from utilities to EPC contractors and engineering firms. You support the analysis, organisation and business development activities that help them spend more time with customers and win more projects.
You will report to the EMEA Sales leadership and work daily with Sales, Marketing, Quality and Regulatory colleagues across Italy, the UK and the Middle East.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Sales analytics and reporting
- Prepare periodic reports on pipeline, win rate, commercial activity and KPIs for the EMEA Sales team and management.
- Analyse commercial data to spot trends, gaps and opportunities by market, segment and customer.
- Own data quality on CRM and company systems, so that numbers are reliable and decisions are well informed.
CRM and database management
- Maintain and enrich databases of prospects, utilities, industrial customers and engineering companies.
- Keep CRM records complete, consistent and up to date across the EMEA region.
Business development support
- Research and identify new customers, partners, EPC contractors, system integrators and consultants in EMEA markets.
- Help build strategic target lists and account lists for each territory.
- Support the qualification processes with customers and EPC contractors (vendor registration, pre-qualification questionnaires, supporting documentation).
Lead generation and digital outreach
- Support lead generation campaigns through LinkedIn, email marketing and sales intelligence platforms.
- Carry out a first qualification of incoming leads and gather the commercial information the team needs to follow up.
Events, trade shows and customer engagement
- Help organise regional trade shows and events, as well as workshops and customer engagement initiatives.
- Manage participant databases, invitations and post-event follow-up.
Documentation and process support
- Organise the Sales documentation library: folder structures, sales materials, references, compliance and quality documents.
- Help make commercial processes simpler and more efficient, working with the Quality team where needed.
Regulatory and market intelligence
- Collect and organise regulatory and market information on key topics such as PFAS, the EU Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive (UWWTD), micropollutants and water reuse.
- Turn this information into short, usable briefs for the Sales team.
WHAT YOU WILL GAIN
- A 360° view of how an international B2B sales organisation works, from lead to contract, across very different markets.
- Hands-on exposure to large infrastructure and industrial water projects, and to the EPC contractors who build them.
- Direct contact with senior Sales managers,
who will involve you in real decisions, not side projects.
- The chance to see and contribute to major international events, such as ADIPEC.
- A clear development path.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Recent graduate in Management Engineering, Economics, Management or International Business.
- Excellent English, written and spoken; Italian is a plus. Other languages, especially Arabic, French or German, are welcome.
- Strong analytical mindset and a genuine interest in working with data.
- Good command of Excel; familiarity with CRM systems (e.g. Salesforce, Dynamics, HubSpot). Power BI or similar tools are a plus.
- Well organised, precise and able to manage several requests at the same time.
- Curious about sales, markets and customers, and keen to grow in a Sales Operations or Commercial Excellence career.
- Comfortable working in an international team with people in different countries and cultures.
WHAT WE OFFER
- A 6-month internship in Milan, in an international and multicultural environment.
- Monthly reimbursement up to 1200 euro x month and access to the company canteen.
- Structured onboarding and a dedicated tutor within the EMEA Sales team.
Recruiting Process
Our selection process is designed to foster mutual understanding between the candidate and De Nora. It typically includes technical interviews, a personality assessment, and in-depth discussions with the Hiring Manager and HR, promoting a dialogue that supports alignment on expectations, role scope, and values, and enables an informed decision for both parties.
