Contech is an Italian engineering company founded in 2017 and headquartered in Rome. We design and deliver industrial automation, supervision and control systems, and the software that runs on top of them: electrical panels, PLC and SCADA systems, revamping of existing plants, industrial cybersecurity and data management platforms.

The role

We are looking for an Electrical & Automation Engineer to join the operations team at our Rome office. You will work with our automation and software engineers on projects for industrial customers, both in our workshop and at customer sites.

What you will do





- Design electrical schematics for automation panels and on-machine wiring
- Wire, check and test panels, in our workshop and on site
- Develop and modify PLC software, mainly on Siemens TIA Portal
- Follow installation, commissioning and acceptance tests at customer sites, in Italy and abroad
- Troubleshoot faults and plant stoppages independently

What we are looking for

Experience and skills

- 3 to 5 years of experience with electrical schematics and panel wiring
- PLC programming: you can read, modify and write code
- Ability to read and work from electrical schematics, P&IDs; and I/O lists
- Experience with an electrical CAD tool (e.g. EPLAN or AutoCAD Electrical)
- Knowledge of the main standards for machine and panel safety (CEI EN 60204-1, CEI EN 61439)
- Experience with field devices and industrial networks: sensors, drives, Profinet / Profibus

Education and languages

- Technical high-school diploma or a degree in engineering
- Italian: B2 level required, C1 or higher is a plus
- Technical English: B1 level required

Availability

- Full availability for business travel in Italy and abroad, including trips of several weeks
- Driving licence (category B)

Personal qualities

- You work in an organised and careful way, and you document what you do




- You are able to work on your own on site and keep the customer and the team informed
- You enjoy solving technical problems and learning new tools

Nice to have

- SCADA / HMI experience: WinCC, FactoryTalk, ASEM Optix
- Other PLC platforms: Rockwell, Beckhoff
- PES/PAV qualification for electrical work (CEI 11-27)

- Permanent contract (tempo indeterminato), CCNL Commercio e Terziario
- Gross annual salary of €34,000 – €40,000 over 14 monthly payments, based on experience
