English Description:

VitaAvanza is a Startup Innovativa based in Trento building Vita, an AI product that helps international students and immigrants navigate Italian bureaucracy before a missed deadline becomes a crisis. We are a team of 10 across five departments, backed by NVIDIA Inception, Microsoft for Startups, Google for Startups, AWS Activate, Anthropic for Startups, and Cloudflare for Startups. Our pilot launches September 2026 with 40 students at the University of Trento.

We are looking for our founding engineer. Not someone to execute a spec. Someone to build the product alongside the founder.

Stack: Next.js 14, TypeScript, Firebase, Azure OpenAI.

The interesting problem: our AI guidance layer, runs grounded RAG on a verified knowledge base. It guides newcomers step by step, in their language. It never invents. It routes to a human expert the moment a question crosses into legal territory. Building AI that knows when to stop is the hardest and most interesting problem in this space.

Responsibilities:

* Build core product features used by real people every day
* Own the RAG architecture and grounded generation pipeline
* Implement the DVI (Development Value Index) posture engine
* Work daily with AI development tools (Claude Code, Codex)
* Contribute to infrastructure decisions across AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, and Cloudflare

Requirements:

* Comfortable with React/Next.js and TypeScript
* Understanding of or genuine curiosity about RAG, vector databases, and AI product engineering
* Self-directed, comfortable with ambiguity, able to make decisions without waiting to be told
* Based in Trento or willing to work from here

Nice to have:

* Experience with Firebase, Postgres (Neon), or serverless architectures
* Experience with Python for ML pipelines
* Contributions to open source projects

Indirizza a un esperto umano nel momento in cui una domanda entra nel territorio legale. Costruire unAI che sa quando fermarsi è il problema più difficile e più interessante in questo ambito.

Responsabilità:

* Costruire funzionalità di prodotto usate da persone reali ogni giorno
* Gestire larchitettura RAG e la pipeline di generazione controllata
* Implementare il DVI (Development Value Index), il motore di postura
* Lavorare quotidianamente con strumenti di sviluppo AI (Claude Code, Codex)
* Contribuire alle decisioni infrastrutturali su AWS, Azure, Google Cloud e Cloudflare

Requisiti:

* Familiarità con React/Next.js e TypeScript
* Comprensione o genuina curiosità per RAG, database vettoriali e AI product engineering
* Autonomo/a, a proprio agio con lambiguità, capace di prendere decisioni senza aspettare indicazioni
* Con sede a Trento o disponibile a lavorare da qui

Graditi:

* Esperienza con Firebase, Postgres (Neon), o architetture serverless
* Esperienza con Python per pipeline ML
* Contributi a progetti open source
