About the Role

Hello, Teachers of the Visually Impaired Ampersand Therapy is hiring a full-time Teacher of Visually Impaired for a K–12 school setting in Rome, GA. In this role, you’ll play a critical part in student success by delivering specialized instruction and support that maximizes learning experiences for students with visual impairments, fosters academic growth, interpersonal development, and daily living skills, and creates a safe, flexible, and engaging learning environment while collaborating with students, families, and school leadership to support individual educational goals and progress.

What You’ll Do
- Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and specialists to support student success
- Develop and implement individualized educational programs tailored to student needs
- Adapt curriculum and differentiate instruction to support diverse learning styles and abilities
- Create a safe, engaging, and supportive classroom environment for students with visual impairments
- Provide individualized and small-group instruction to maximize academic, social, and daily living skills
- Monitor, assess, document, and communicate student progress, goals, and outcomes
- Maintain accurate records for attendance, grading, assessments, and compliance requirements
- Build strong partnerships with students, families, and school staff through effective communication and collaboration
