Independent contractor (P.IVA / local equivalent) · 30–40 hrs/week · based in Florence (Italy), EST working hours · $3,000–$4,000/month

You'll start as a media buyer — hands-on-keyboard, executing campaigns daily — and grow into a Senior Retail Media Strategist who owns client relationships end-to-end. This is a build-your-career role: you begin in execution to build the foundation, and as you prove out your judgment and execution, you take over your own book of clients.

To start, you already need a base in media buying. The rest — the retail-media specialization — we build together.

About Us

Online grocery shopping in the U.S. is growing fast — and with it, the complexity of managing ads across Retail Media Networks (RMNs) like Instacart, Walmart Connect, Target/Roundel, Criteo, and Kroger.

That's where QBR Media comes in. We're a performance-driven media agency helping fast-growing CPG brands (primarily in food & beverage) navigate and optimize their spend across all major RMNs. Our clients rely on us to drive results through smart budget allocation, campaign execution, and data-backed decisions. They're mostly founder-led, scrappy U.S. challenger brands — not slow-moving enterprises — so the work is fast, direct, and high-trust.

What you'll be doing For your first months, your role is effectively that of a media buyer: executing and managing campaigns day to day, hands-on-keyboard inside the platforms. That's how you build the technical foundation everything else grows from. At QBR, we don't want generals who can't ride a horse — everyone on the team is hands-on-keyboard, even once they're senior.

In this first phase you'll:

- Execute campaigns (the core of the role early on). Build, launch, optimize, and manage RMN campaigns daily under the guidance of a senior strategist. This is where you learn the craft.
- Support reporting. Own pieces of our mid-month and monthly reporting — pulling data, spotting trends, and drafting the insights that go to clients (reviewed before they ship).
- Budget pacing. Track spend and pacing against targets, flag risks early, and learn to spot worrisome trends before a client brings them up.
- Build client context. Sit in on client calls, take notes, and follow up — learning how we communicate (fast, clear, confident, client-first) before you're the one leading the conversation.
- Learn the platforms and the reps. Stay current on RMN ad solutions, new capabilities, and emerging retail media trends.

Once you hit our quality bar,

you move from execution to owning the client as the primary point of contact — relationship, budget forecast, strategy, execution, and pacing. That's the destination: from media buyer to Retail Media Strategist who owns their accounts.

What we're looking for

First and foremost, people excited about what we're doing. Retail media is still an emerging space, so direct RMN experience (Instacart, Walmart, Target/Roundel, Criteo) is a plus — but not a requirement.

What is required:

- A base in media buying or marketing. This is the entry point of the role: you start as a media buyer, so you must have already managed paid campaigns hands-on.
- An extremely high level of English — written and spoken. All of our client contacts are founders and executives; you must sound natural, polished, and credible on a call, not merely understandable. Hard filter.
- Ability to work EST hours. Our clients are U.S.-based, so you must commit to working aligned to U.S. Eastern Time business hours. For Europe-based candidates that means roughly afternoon-to-late-evening local time (e.g., ~2pm–10pm CET). Non-negotiable, and a real lifestyle consideration — go in with eyes open.
- Comfort with data and confidence presenting it. You know (or can quickly learn) ROAS, NTB, Cost Per Unit Moved, CPC, CTR — and what drives them.
- Proactive and async-native. Strong written communication; able to work independently across Slack, Email, and Notion without being chased.
- Hunger to grow. The single biggest predictor of success here. We're investing in turning you from media buyer into a senior strategist — we need someone running at that pace.

You'll thrive at QBR Media if… ✅ You're energized by our mission to help smaller challenger brands win against the incumbent Fortune 500 corporations.

✅ We're a small, fast-growing agency — if you thrive in an entrepreneurial environment where you can move quickly, contribute meaningfully, and avoid layers of bureaucracy, you'll fit right in. If you prefer the structure of a large, established company, we might not (yet) be the right fit for you.

✅ You're excited to work in an industry with massive growth potential. As online grocery shopping booms,

retailers are pouring resources into digital advertising. At QBR, you'll be on the front lines of this retail media revolution, working directly with founders and executives at innovative brands.

✅ You genuinely love the process of understanding what clients are trying to achieve, finding smart ways to help them grow, pitching new ideas to win their buy-in, and delivering results that speak for themselves.

✅ You consistently hold yourself and your teammates to a high standard and seek out candid feedback to rapidly grow.

Values we're looking for:

- First Principles — You can deal with ambiguity, deconstruct problems, and build the optimal solution.
- Standard of Excellence — High standards are contagious. A+ talent attracts A+ talent. There's a glut of mediocrity in the world; we're chasing the people who strive for excellence.
- Bias for Action — Take initiative, make decisions quickly, experiment, and learn from failures. Customer expectations rise over time, so we improve every single day.
- Low Ego — Coachability. It's not about being right, it's about getting to the right answer. You react calmly to feedback and treat it as information. You respectfully challenge decisions when you disagree — and once a decision is made, you commit wholly and move forward.
- Organization
- you have to be extremely organized, if you are more creative and/or you have 10.000 tabs on your chrome with messy laptop desktop, you are not a fit.

Work setup & engagement

- Engagement: Independent contractor (Italian P.IVA or local equivalent in your country). Not a salaried employee role.
- Compensation: $3,000–$4,000/month, depending on experience and how fast you ramp and execute.
- Hours: 35–40 hrs/week, aligned to U.S. Eastern Time business hours.
- Location: Florence base but you can travel and work remote too
- Growth path: Start as a media buyer (execution) → grow into a Retail Media Strategist owning clients directly → Senior, with the option down the line (on larger accounts) to manage your own media buyer.

How to apply ? Send to niccolo[at]qbrmedia.com with a short Loom video (~5 minutes) — you, on camera, walking us through three things:

- Why you're the right fit — what you've managed on the media-buying side, hands-on or any project you find relevant.
- Show me how you manage your projects / work and your organization skills
- How are you using AI these days
- Tell me something that would set you apart from any other candidate
